It's abundantly clear that Biden plans on working on immigration soon - early on in his administration.

There's a lot of headlines floating out there - can someone distill what the latest news is?

Is it looking more like DACA -> greencard (3 yr path)?
vs. the unilateral legalization of all 11 undocumented ppl

I doubt much will take place other than current DACA in place. If 2022 moves with a blue wave then we have a higher chance.

TLDR - Biden floated an immigration plan covering 11 million undocumented individuals and it’s basically DOA. No chance of passing but there is some hope a deal can be worked out on border security + DACA. But don’t get your hopes up

unilateral legalization of all 11 undocumented ppl.
-> will fail in senate bc we need 60 votes to overcome republicans' filibuster which we don't have.

DACA -> greencard (3 yr path)
-> actually has a chance of passing the senate.

TL;DR

No one actually knows.

Don't get too many ideas as to what should or could happen this year or the next. New admin has a lot on their plate. DACA might fall off that plate the same way it has year over year in calmer times.
