Adjusting status ...

Hi to all, Im about to start the long process of adjusting status via 245i.
I have a ton of questions and Im sure ill ask more in the coming days. This is the most pressing question I have:
On part 8 General Eligibility and Inadmissibility Grounds of form
I-485(Public Charge) question 61 it states:

Have you ever received public assistance from any source including the US Government or any state, COUNTY, city or municipallity?

From about 2003 to 2008 (when I didnt have a ss#) I was under what is called here in Riverside County CA, Medically Indingent Services Program MISP. I received medical care from the county (because I was born with Ankylosing Spondylitis).

It was not aide from the state or government but from the COUNTY.
I do not want to lie obviously but will that affect me in any way?

Another quick question I have: Under DACA we do not have lawful imigration status right? Theres a couple of questions that say to state my current immigration status. Do I put DACA along with no lawful status?

To anyone that adjusted to LPR via 245i did you use a lawyer, if so how much did he/she charge you?

Answer yes to 61 and no to 62, and explain in part 14 what happened, if you were a minor back then even better because it's not like you could've said no. Public charge relates to whether you are a future risk, rather than if you have ever taken benefits.

Then also explain your current circumstances (education, work history, etc) to show that you are unlikely to need public assistance in the future.

Dunno how much lawyers charge for 245(i) adjustment but it shouldn't be too much because it's not that different from normal AOS, you just include I-485 supplement A and evidence that you got sponsored on or before April 30th 2001, and then proof of physical presence for the primary beneficiary (if sponsored after Jan 14, 1998).

Thank you. I was not a minor I had just turned 21. I was researching and in I found that DHS will only consider public benefits as listed in the rule, including:

Supplemental Security Income;
Temporary Assistance for Needy Families;
Any federal, state, local, or tribal cash benefit programs for income maintenance (often called general assistance in the state context, but which may exist under other names);
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (formerly called food stamps);
Section 8 Housing Assistance under the Housing Choice Voucher Program;
Section 8 Project-Based Rental Assistance (including Moderate Rehabilitation);
Public Housing (under the Housing Act of 1937, 42 U.S.C. 1437 et seq.); and
Federally funded Medicaid (with certain exclusions).

Ill explain the situation but I would be in sheer terror if my application was denied cause I got county assistance so long ago.
