But both Republican and Democratic Senate aides say the effort has a slim chance of working and predict that Dreamers will most likely begin to lose their work authorization and security from deportation sometime early next year. Republicans, who are expected to increase their numbers in Congress in November’s midterm elections, largely oppose protecting Dreamers unless Democrats make significant concessions to beef up border security and turn away asylum-seekers, which they are unlikely to do.
Quote:
DACA legislation would need at least 10 Republicans to sign on to pass the Senate, which is unlikely, say Senate aides from both Republican and Democratic offices.

Another Republican aide said there is “zero” chance to pass immigration legislation while Joe Biden is president.

"Dreamers will most likely begin to lose their work authorization and security from deportation sometime early next year."

Lol, why do they think that? And what's early next year February, March? Unless Hanen kills daca I don't see thus happening until 1-2 years from now.

Yea I wish they would clarify why they think we’ll start losing protections early next year.

Either way, DACA is a zombie program and with Republicans nearly guaranteed to take the house, theres very little chance they would even pass the bridge act, let alone a Dream act. Better start preparing for the worst.

If you read the article, they think Judge Hanen is going to ultimately end protection and EAD for current recipients because he already declared DACA illegal.

I sent my renewal 2 weeks ago, and it should be renewed around Mid January when its 150 days from my current ead expiration date. Fingers crossed that they pass the dream act during lame duck session (its gonna be tough).

Not as scary as when Trump took office. I clearly remember the night he won.

yeah especially on Sept 2017 when Atty Gen. Sessions went on the podium to announce DACAs recession. idk, bro. kinda the same feeling to me tbh. its just not as bad cause our “friends and allies” Democrats are in power.

i just feel like the Democrats bailed on us and left us out to die. feels bad, man.

Fake news. Looks like it’s the same reporter that said the White House was preparing an EO for Hanen’s ruling.
