Has anybody tried transfering his/hers credit report to your new ssn? I have read some forums saying to write letters to the credit bureaus. Has anybody done this and was successful?

A week ago, I sent letters to all 3 credit bures requesting for my credit history to be transferred to my SSN. I will order a credit report to see whether I was successful or not.

Can't you just go to the bank where you have your credit card and ask them to transfer the credit history? I did this at Bank of America and two days later my credit history appeared on my SSN (Equifax Credit Bureau, at least).

Then again, I only have one credit card on my credit history when I had my ITIN, and I did not have any other stuff on my credit like loans, so it might be more difficult for other people.

Did you have to take the actual SS card with you?

I did take it, but I'm not completely sure if you have to take it.

What I do know is that when my banker called Bank of America's credit card department, the credit analyst asked my banker if she had the physical SSN with her.

I sent in the three letters. I got a response back from Experian and TransUnion that my social could not be verified. i had scanned my new social security card as well as sent in a copy of my ITIN letter i received years ago. Gotta call em and see what's up.

I sent in the letters to all 3 agencies. According to this http://www.ehow.com/how_6758058_tran...igned-ssn.html
once you send in the letters, you have to wait a month or two and get your credit report to see if your credit history was transferred to your SSN successfully.
