Ha! Yep. But, like Obama said a few weeks ago, he already had the Latino vote and by a HUGE margin.

I personally believe he did it for votes and political reasons.

Remember, Marco Rubio was going to come out with a plan (STARS Act) before we had DACA.

The Obama Administration had deported the most amount of immigrants ever (more than Bush) during his time so far in office.

The problem with the election now is voter turnout. Obama had lost a lot of progressives and Democrats were polled as unenthusiastic about this election vs Republicans by a large margin. It only shifted recently after the DNC.

I think he did it in order to galvanize the Latino votes because he had not done ONE thing with immigration at all in his four years. I should add the Dream Act of 2010 was a good effort, but it was still a failure.

It's not that they would have voted for Romney, but they probably wouldn't have voted and that would impact several states that are within the margin of error (like Nevada, for example).

Romney has to win Nevada and other states so a lower voter turnout from Democrats only helps his cause.

Some people here just don't get that Obama is as much a politician as Mittens. It's all politics people. No one is looking out for us.

To another point debated here. Mittens would have to revoke DACA if he wanted us not to renew our EAD, right? Because as it stands, we can already reapply after it expires. Or am I mistaken?

And in my opinion, Romney wouldn't dare touch DACA, in any way.

If Romney gets elected not only are immigrants screwed, but the whole country.

How can people not see this just from hearing the words come out of his mouth?

Oh give it up. This "they're all the same" mentality is a cop-out and why Latinos, the largest minority group in the country along with other immigrants don't participate in politics and the same people who hate them keep getting re-elected.

They are NOT the same. Go ask the 120,000 people who applied for DACA. Mittens has said out loud he wants you to self deport and he will VETO the Dream Act. So here you have the President who did what was possible given the political climate to help at least some of the people in need (unfortunately not me as I am old) and you have one who wants to not only not pass anything, but make life even harder so you'll "self deport".

So no, you're not clever with your "they're all the same" comment. Far from it. And hey, since you're not a fan of the president and have an avatar mocking him the way the right winger and the Tea Partiers do, is it safe to assume you're not going to use DACA? I mean, they're all the same so why take something from someone you don't like?

The racist right-wing KFI radio station in LA also said that there was a visa via an executive order.
That is two mistakes in a row for that racist station that bows down to conservatives.

To just add my two cents. I think that Obama did DACA for political reasons. And for those that
state that he has deported many and many "illegal" immigrants, although I am blatantly against
deporting DREAMERS, if in those numbers there is a majority that have commited crimes then good!
As who have stayed out of trouble we are not like them.

That's all pundits too. They spit out things without even caring to do research and then those who listen to them just keep spitting out those things not because they are ignorant but stupid since they believe everything those individuals say. As far as DACA being a political move to be honest I don't care if it was. All I know that is it didn't happen out of the nowhere because the government felt compassionate. It was because dreamers have been working hard at this.

Well numbskull, if you were referring to that one element of the bill, why didn't you specify when you made that declaration.

But, really the whole Romney/Ryan is the biggest gaffe the GOP has committed since the Palin disaster. We have Romney, which is literally the equivalent of a lying android humanoid and his best pick for running mate is someone that is hellbent on destroying every social program out there.

It's like they actually wanted two of the most boring sociopaths in the nation on the ticket.
Yep, I've just been chilling here, excited because the school year ends in a few months here, but it's weird that it's nearly summer here, and you guys are near winter. But yah it's been fun for sure, excited for all you guys though and the incredible gift that is DACA. I'm trying desperately to get the Presidential debate on some stream tomorrow though. You guys will be pleased to know that even in Australia we think the Romney ticket are whackjobs, our treasurer even called the republican party, a party "of crooks and cranks that might doom the world economy". I for once truly believe we have finally won this. But let's wait of course until november sixth to start popping the champagne.

I stand corrected Mittens has not tried to get votes by eating at Taco Bell. Instead he went for some Chipotle! LOL
