If you get ur 601a approved, I would think it is better just go to your country and do the interview. The ap itself is a half year process if it comes back, and 485 can be more than a year depends on which state you are living in righ now.

They received my renewal packet on July 3rd. Biometrics were taken on the 26th of July. I got my approval notice and card being processed on the 3rd of August. Lol. Super fast!! I expired on November 18 of this year. I lost out on 3 months!!

Dropped renewal documents into blue box on the block on 08/03/2018

It was delievered to Chicago on 08/06/2018

Check was cashed by USCIS today on 08/10/2018

Now waiting to receive biometrics notice

I expire 09/2019 and I have the same timeline as you so far except it’s for the lewisville Dropbox in Texas.

Yes, I did. I checked on my app this Monday and got the same message. I called the 1-800 number and it said that my case in being actively reviewed. Kinda of freaked me out.

Just got my biometrics letter uploaded to my USCIS online account. I sent my renewal last week. I expire on April 2019.
