My I-130 was received in late-December 2016. USCIS's online status page indicates that my file was received by the local office (NYC) in early-June 2017. Anyone know how long before I can expect to have an interview scheduled? Thanks!

Wow so it took about 6 months to go from the Chicago USCIS office to your local office. That is ridiculous.

Unfortunately no we haven't lived together. I often visit him and stay there for like a week or so. I visit at least 3x a month or sometimes he visits me. We've been together for about 1 year and 10 months. We don't have a joint account. We were thinking of having one after we marry. Also, the lease he will probably add my name after we marry. Idk what kind of evidence I will have since everything will be after marriage.

I've been married since Sept 2016, and I didn't submit AOS because we didnt live together until April 2017. We have been together since 2009.

I heard is hard to prove your bona fide if you dont live together but i am not saying it is impossible.

Is it possible you can wait until you get a place together?

Yeah, unfortunately, a heavily populated area by immigrants usually results in a long wait time for an adjustment interview.

I am sharing somebody else's timeline.

Submitted 10/06/2016
Interview 12/15/2016
Approval 05/05/2017

Total Time: 7 months
Local Office: Houston

The reason it took 5 months after interview is because of an issue with his application. Overall it would of taken him about 2-3 months to get his green card, compared to what other people are saying which is 6-10 months.

Interesting.

He has an apartment in Maryland. After we get married he will add my name to the lease. He's established there in Maryland and I'm the one who needs to be flexible and go and live there. Hopefully they'll be enough evidence. I mean he is a cop and in the army. There is no way they will think it'll be a fake hahaha cross my fingers
