#1. If you look at our home page, you will discover that the main focus of this site / forum deals specifically on the support for the Dream Act. Our mission statement basically boils down to garnering support and accomplishing passage of the afforementioned piece of legislation. Some of the other members on here, including myself, also support AgJobs. But once again, this forum was intended solely to bring attention to our piece of legislation. So therefore, we centralize our main efforts towards taking action on the subject of that issue alone. (And yes, I do admit, we were all focused and rooting for CIR back in May, before it evaporated. But as of now, we once again are driven by only one idea, and that is for OUR DREAMS to come true to reality)

#2. Most of us on here have parents or other family members that are considered out of status that would not qualify for the Dream Act. So of course WE SUPPORT some kind of comprehensive immigration reform / overhaul (that would help adjust their status) as opposed to the failed system that we currently face. So before you claim and label us to be selfish, think again. We can't even begin to help anyone else, without first being able to help ourselves. Finding solutions to our problems, will in turn open avenues to solving the bigger issue.

#3. Insulting us will no doubt, do the opposite of what you are trying to accomplish. Instead of inspiring us to take action on the complicated and intricate levels of debate concerning comprehensive immigration, you are alienating us (no pun intended lol) and at the same time, losing your credibility as a valuable and informative source. In my view, you've already stirred up a hornet's nest with replies that will shoot back with anger over the insults you've thrown in with your post. (I hope that anyone else replying to the post will refrain from having to resort to that level, but hey, who am I to stop free speech)

#4. When the hell did I become such a ranting lunatic? Oh well, screw it, that's what forums are for right?

This kind of language will not be tolerated. Like citizenhope stated, this site is not for the promotion of other legislation other than the DREAM Act and REAL comprehensive immigration reform.

Every thread that we have on the Taking Action section is devoted to CIR or DREAM for a purpose: these pieces of legislation will truly bring us out of the shadows and give us a chance at a better life. The OK law HB 1804 will probably go away once it has its day in court in the same way that the Hazleton law is being argued before the court system. Anyone that chooses to help with the voting down of HB 1804 can do so but there are many [and I am in this majority] that see this legislation as one of the many piecemeal laws that states are putting together since Congress failed to do its job and, with this thought, will push even harder for some form of CIR or other legalization legislation to pass. Insults will get you nowhere.
