People, right now we are in for all the marbles! We are calling Senators like crazy and we are getting a fair share of news coverage. All is right and dandy, right? NO, right now the Dark Side is poluting the mass media with their ignorance and hate. We have to deal with it at once. Yesterday, the Miami Herald "lost" and article about undocumented students for several hours. One person is already calling for a boycott of the Miami Herald for printing such articles. Editors take those boycotts seriousy. Less readers mean less advertizing money. I cannot fight all those vultures alone. Look through google and find articles related to the Dream Act, don't just read and post them here. Send an e-mail to the editor thank him for the article. Thank the journalist and the person who gave an opinion. It will be debastating if by September all there are no new articles about Dream and only about the undocumented guy who killed people. It is going to hurt us because everybody is going to associate us with an violent murderer and child molester. Go outside this site and separate yourselft from violent criminals. If there is a rating system, put high ratings to those who support Dream. Seriously, the jerks from the Herald need to be stop. Some just post "WHAT PART OF ILLEGAL YOU DON'T GET" and get a 3.75 rating. This is a start?

they want to boycott the Miami Herald for making articles about undocumented students

Carson GI fights for American dream
The arguments is whether students who were born in Kansas from undocumented parents deserve the right to have in state tuition “Think about the kids whose parents were born in Kansas!”

IF you mention that you are a Dreamer, they usually do not pay attention to you. I have make rather vague comments about the articles, like "it is fair and balance."
Something on the likes:
Subject: DREAM ACT NOT HATE MAIL!!!!!
Mr./Miss: Editor/Journalist's name:
Thank You so much for your article about the Dream Act. Although you might recieve many hateful comments about your persona, this is a great article. You touch a delicate subject in a fair, balance and just manner. Thus, I felt the necesity to keep you to continue with the good job and informing the public in this all important issue.
Thank You
Whatever Your Name Is.

Don't copy and paste, add some personal touches. If you want to really show some class, say that you support the Dream Act and give a compelling argument about the issue. I send an e-mail a couple of weeks ago and forgot about the issue. I just receive a notification that it is being considered for print. It may get pick and it will be a sore spot in a sea of ignorance.

I thank some guy who made a really nice article about Dream and Juan Gomez and he responded like in 12 hours. Among his comments was that Juan paid his debt to tax payers with a 3.96 GPA. Well, I told him that I knew there was going to be hate comming his way, challenging his character and capacity. He responded that in fact he has received a lot of e-mails and letters where his is insulted in all possible ways. People, spend 2 minutes of your day thanking some editor or journalist for standing such beatings for you. It is going to erase all doubts they have about the cost benefits of their choices. They need more than the knowlege of doing a good deed. They need love. Show them some love and thank them.
