I want to help pass the dream act but don't have much time during the day to call onto senators. Do you know any groups that I can donate to that need the money to lobby for the Dream Act? I donated quite a bit to get CIR passed but what a waste that was I'd be willing to help forum members to get this thing passed. Depending on the cost, I was thinking maybe I can sponsor a radio commercial campaign in one or two keys states.

Probably someone else has other organizations that are more helpful. Right now the one I can think of is the National Immigration Law Center. They have a whole site dedicated to Dream. Still, I don't know if they will take moneys to lobby for Dream Act. You can ask them. I am still trying to get in to their mail list but they are probably going to respond to you right away. Money issues are always the ones that get a priority.

-If you have any questions about making a donation, please contact Marisa Aguayo at (213) 639-3900, extension 118 or

I really wish we could just rent out a professional lobbying group to make all these calls in addition to ours.

americandream, thank you for the suggestion. I can't think of any group but there are many things that you can do besides calling. You can write letters or help some of the other forum members with their projects (interviews and such).

To everyone else: DREAM simply WILL NOT happen if you don't all help. There's too few regular callers and we're on our own here. No one will magically step in and promote our cause. Enlist people to help, get active (AND QUICK), and most of all if you can call, DO CALL. If you're in a position to do something and you need DREAM and you still choose to rely on the few active callers then I really don't think you deserve to benefit from this legislation.
