Sens. Clinton, Hagel, Kerry, and New Mexico's Gov. Bill Richardson are being considered for Sec. of State. Are there any benefits if Hagel who is a DREAM sponsor, or Clinton or Kerry who are co-sponsors end up as Sec. of State? Or is it bad for us because we will lose their respective vote in the senate?

In the event that a Senator resigns his/her position the Governor of the state appoints a new senator, so to answer the question, I guess it will be up to the new senator.

New York is a liberal state so I'm not worried about who will replace Senator Clinton because that replacement will more than likely vote for the DREAM Act. Same goes for Massachusetts
