WASHINGTON – Two people facing deportation from the United States have been taken into custody at the White House gate. They had arrived for a tour of the executive mansion.

The pair was part of an adult education program, and a routine background check showed they had an outstanding immigration order against them.

White House spokesman Nick Shapiro says they were taken into custody Thursday morning before they entered the compound.

All White House visitors are required to undergo a U.S. Secret Service background check. Shapiro says agents discovered the problems and informed immigration officials, according to protocol

So much for the white house being behind students, they even arrest them on the spot.

I believe it wasn't until last year that the Secret Service started to identify immigration checks as an issue.I think it happened when it was found out that the former DHS secretary had a maid working for him whom was undocumented & The Secret Service didn't know about it.

Is it just me, or was it a pretty stupid idea for them to try to tour the WHITE HOUSE and not expect to be checked before going in?...

if they had an order of deportation and ICE didn't know of their whereabouts, or if they didn't have something pending; they wouldn't qualify for Dream.

some of us have deportation orders against us, so in order for us to still qualify for Dream, we have to be under the "color of law"; meaning, we cannot be hiding (absconded) from immigration officials.

For the ones here that have final deportation orders against them, OR are awaiting your trial in front of an immigration judge; DO NOT go into hiding, no matter what decision you get. try and fight your case through appeals or anything to buy time.

Agreed. Why would you go to the White House, of all places, if you have a deportation order?
