if they acknowledge the fact that CIR is unlikely this year and maybe next year, and they STILL say they won't at least take a piecemeal approach... THEN they are denying these kids for another year or two..... so much for the "we should pass Dream Act immediately, I'm gonna make this a top priority" speech.

Passing the Dream Act first, would also serve as a test/experiment to see how USCIS handles the paperwork.

Sen. Reid now joins Speaker Pelosi in making immigration reform the third priority behind health care and energy. Here's some quotes:

Now we just need energy and health care to clear the House and Senate floors. The House is set to tackle energy and health care over the summer while the Senate looks like they'll be discussing health care over the summer.
reid vowed immigration reform in 2007. please...dont believe everything you read. this is just too tragic.

and oh yeah, your assumption that they will accomplish health care and energy bill before november is...uh...yeah very opmistic. keep on barking up that tree.

of course they want all this to be done as soon as they can. these are not deadlines that are set in stone. they always mark a calendar and push the date back as easily as they see fit. welcome to washington politics.

It's called an agenda for a reason. They bring it up, and they vote on it. The Senate Agenda thread was built to find out when these agenda items will be voted on so we can figure out when DA or CIR/DA will be voted on.

if you want to get technical, agenda by definition is a list of things to be considered. it does not set a deadline. even when these politicians say they want certain things to be done by certain time, thats not the final deadline. your senate agenda tells you vague outline of when things should be done, not when things will be done. like i said, dont believe everything you read. for a guy reading up on lotta these stuffs, its surprising you're not aware of how washington politics work in general.

i only respond what i think is realistic. sorry, i dont have selective hearing and ignore whats happening around me. if i see a cockroach on your forehead im gonna say you got a cockroach on your forehead, not close my eyes and hope that the cockroach is gone when i open my eyes and tell you its a ladybug.

you insecure kids want verbal assurances from this forum. fine. just skip my posts. nobody said you have to read my posts and feel mentally down. just know that when i start to sound like something you can really agree on and cuddle like its your teddy bear, it means dream really is about to pass.

this is very positive news. For those of you who may not be aware Reid comes from very humble beginnings.
His family was dirt broke as a child raised in Nevada so he understands the importance of giving every person the opportunity to fulfill their aspirations
