Ok, so putting aside the fact that your claims are completely unsubstantiated, let's assume for a second that you, and others here, are absolutely correct: Obama will give up on immigration - since, you know, he gave us "racialist" Sotomayor - next year Republicans will somehow regain control of the House and the Senate (I guess a lot of Democrats will die or something so that there are enough seats for Republicans to pick up and become the majority), and all Americans, except for a few Latinos will be against immigration reform. So what exactly are you suggesting we do? I'm not following you. And most importantly, what are you still doing here? Will president Sarah Palin finally enact the DA when she's president in 2012?

I know. I'm actually concerned about it.
But, many things can happen between now and this fall.
I'm just saying that we do not have to despair because the White House cancelled the meeting for next Wednesday and postponed it. It's very disappointing to all of us, but it's not the end of the CIR or the Dream Act.

Also, those who are criticizing Obama or his supporters...
I doubt McCain or Palin would do more than Obama or Biden.

their answers to CIR and Dream would have been announced and clear by now. Obama is all talk now.

and yeah likely with Mccain there would be nothing to wait for.

We're so wedded to this moment; now...we desparately need something to pass that we react with deep cynicism, and attack any viewpoint we consider contrary to our belief. So we cling on to flimsy promises from a wiley politician, and ignore the fact that his promises not only keep changing but they're no longer firm promises. We overlook every hint from his administration that they would prefer tackling this issue NEXT year!

I'm not 20 any more. If you want to keep clinging on to promises that no longer exist, go ahead. I can't blame you. But be wise to hedge your bets. I'm moving on with my life with or without DA or CIR. This includes marriage, starting a business with college friends. I've put life too long on pause because of promises from politicians. Be careful with how your approach the legislative process. I would hate to see some of you 5 years from now waiting for your lives to restart. Good luck.

BRAVO!!!

So now there's an anti-Obama bandwagon for his "inaction"? Some of you guys need to grow up few years and then come back, jesus christ.

Oh yeah I'm sure it's easy to try to stabilize a country during its financial crisis, people nagging him responsible (not the congress) for health care, energy and fuel crisis, immigration, pot, _________ (insert your wish for the genie here, because he's obligated to grant your wish.)

I still value his relationship with senator Durbin as a win for us, and it means a world when the bill lands on his desk, because he'll sign it. We have to hold Reid and others accountable to get a progress on the votes, and that's why we have campaigns and rallies.

Do yourself a favor, before pinning him responsible because a hearing got delayed few times, or because you want it right now and it's not here, think about the big picture and all the favorable support we've built up for the vote. Durbin himself said the votes are there, just matter of when.

If you can't grasp the bigger picture, and can't stop throwing an emo, hissy fit like a fat bitch from an audience stand on jenny jones, just deport yourself now and save the trouble. We don't want to hear your naive comments that just make us look retarded.

An update from the same source:

UPDATE: Frank Sharry of America's Voice, an administration ally, tells Gebe Martinez: "While we are disappointed that the meeting has been delayed, we are confident that immigration reform will move forward this fall. The president has promised to advance the issue many times, and we believe he is a man of his word."

Please do not post anything that could be even considered positive news...

I am in my "realist negative zen" zone.

They say the reason for the delay is the war supplemental bill for the wars, which is in danger of failing. I guess they have to shore up votes in the House.

Still, immigration remains the third priority behind health care and energy and that hasn't changed. Also, the immigration event is still happening sometime later this month. I think once the event happens, the memories of the delays will be overshadowed by the news that will come from the event.

The scramble for votes on the Iraq/Afghanistan/kitchen sink supplemental continues, even as the vote is scheduled for next week.
Not only that, but the inclusion of the $5 billion for the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has created another strange bedfellows situation -- though as is often the case, one of the bedfellows is a concern troll.
WTF?
See Congress Matters to find out.
