Luis Gutierrez, the Puerto Rican Congressman from Chicago, said he will introduce a bill for comprehensive immigration reform -- just a day after he criticized the Obama administration for delaying on the issue and leaving undocumented immigrants out of health care proposals.

"Comprehensive immigration reform will get undocumented immigrants into the system and fully integrated into American society," Noorani said. "It will restore order to our legal immigration system by channeling people through ports of entry with visas, not through the desert with a smuggler. This will help us establish a legal immigration system where rules are enforced in a humane way but in a way that builds confidence in the system."

The details of Gutierrez's plan are not available, but he had supported the immigration reform package defeated in 2007, which would have offered legalization to millions of undocumented immigrants.

I wonder how long he's been working on that bill? Or if he even has one written. Schumer's bill will probably come before his.

Sorry for my negativity. Chalk it up to a breach in my anti-frustration defenses.

I love Gutierrez, he is a true advocate for our cause, and the ironic thing is he is Puerto Rican (a U.S territory)

I dont. he refused to endorse the DREAM Act, and used his power in the CHC to make them not endorse the DREAM Act. His stance? CIR or nothing...
