I thought this article explains precisely the frustration most of us have with this administration so far.

Good article. Some of the comments are garbage, as usual.

yup

"Obama and his advisers decided to attack health care reform before immigration reform. That obviously was a mistake.

One thing that has thrown a wrench into the prospects for health care reform is the Joe Wilsonian concern that illegal immigrants might get free health care as a result of the reform process. Had that issue been addressed beforehand by giving illegal immigrants a path to earned legalization, that controversy might have been defused. Now Obama might walk away with nothing.

Be that as it may, it's clear that immigration reform just isn't a top priority for this administration."

In my opinion, healthcare first is the way to go. The american people as well as pretty much everyone, want benefits for themselves or else, they will oppose to everything the man does. When the immigration reform becomes big, I am sure that the right-wing america will try to blast it just as they are trying with the healthcare reform. Hopefully President Obama will be able to do this as soon as possible.

In my opinion he did the right thing. We are suffering due to status but there are many people who are suffering and fighting for their lives because they are dropped or are not covered.

yes i must admit, it is frustrating that it was not immigration reform first, but President Obama did the right thing.

Health care is a moral issue and not a political one. You just can not tell some one go die because you want to make more money. This is just not right.

There was never any amnesty to beging with. People do not just become legalized. It is after they have earned it through paying penalties, learning english , ... .

Let's change that! Let's start adding some pro-migrant comments!

stevieola and mona lisa you both have a misconception of the anti-obama/immigrant crowd. You both are failing to realize the following: If it wasn't "health care for illegals" it would just be some other excuse. They'll put a negative spin on any objective on the Presidents agenda because their problem is not with the issue being considered. but with the President (...being black).
