Great. After the Phillies lost, I didn't think their could be any worse news for the day...looks like I was wrong. Thanks a lot Dems, always making promises but never pursuing them.

Bullspit. They need to do something concrete or they're practically handing the elections over the Republicans.

I think the Republicans winning those gubernatorial elections should be a wake-up call. Get something done Democrats, or it's back with the Republicans again...

Pretty much. And with so many people already feeling defeated, I don't know what the hell is going to become of us when CIR is actually introduced and we have to put in some effort to get something passed.

I just wish health care could get wrapped up and we move on.

Things could get more complicated if the health care bill legislation is delayed until next year: www.politico.com/news/stories/1109/29058.html

Afterwards, I shudder to think about how troublesome that cap and trade bill legislation will be. Two senators, Byrd & Rockefeller, and Lincoln and many Republicans have vowed to vote against the cap and trade. This could lead to more overextended negotiations again and again and again but this time to ensure that the Byrd & Rockefeller and Lincoln and the Blue Dogs go along.

The unemployment rate and the economy are definitely going to play a major role in next year's elections. If it goes above 10%, which is likely, the Republicans can use that to attack the Dems.

And then Obama should have to address the issues of Iraq, Afghanistan, and Guantanamo Bay at some point.

What a mess.

You two are both idiots.

Your comments are rude, be respectful.
It's a frustration. We feel disconsolate. These rumors and news just dismay us with a shock.

We don't need a dreamer like you give us a lecture on spelling or philosophy. You should first watch your own attitude before criticizing others. To call someone idiot because they are frustrated with the issue, is simply wrong. Get some good moral characters.

IMO, we need to push the DREAM Act first. Maybe I am being selfish, but to bind DA with CIR is extremely risk and harder. We know the truth. We need to push this. If they want to get votes from the immigration reformists, they need to get something done.

Let us push this now.

Durbin said himself that he would add Dream to CIR so i guess we have no say in this issue, it sucks but what can we do we have no real power.

But if CIR fails this year, Durbin has said that DREAM would then be introduced as a stand alone.

If they do begin immigration next spring (hopefully, which i doubt because of other programs, like energy), just debating on CIR will take probably the whole year. Then if it fails, we probably have to wait until next next year because of the re-election.

I see a threat to the Democratic administration because what happened with the last three states they had lost last week. It signaled one thing: people cared about economy more than other issues.

I hope they would listen to us instead. I am not trying to be self-fish but I think we students should get the priority in the immigration process. As it should be, DREAM Act should remain a standalone bill, and CIR can introduce at the same time. Health Care is not just one single bill. The most recent passed one is a bundle - the largest Heath Care Reform Bill. But there are some other smaller bills. So I really hope these guys can listen to us.

I am not living in a DREAM, but to play safe, we students do deserve priority. Who leads the country? We the younger generation. Once I have a legal status, I can join a research group in my college, get a part time job, a work-study on campus, get all the legal benefit and I can help my family out.
