Major diss from the White House - After dragging his feet for the last year on purpose, if you ask me, so that we run out of time to pass immigration reform, the President has announced that he will leave on March 21st to travel overseas.

Please take a look at the following video of Senator Obama and compare it to President Obama:

There is no way around it, the time for immigration reform is now. If you had actually passed immigration reform like you promised within the timeline promised, you would have had healthcare reform legislation in your desk by now. No Joe Wilson outbursts re: 'illegals'. No tea-partiers complaining about subsidies for 'illegals', etc. It is unfathonable that you believe that you should prevent people FROM BUYING THEIR OWN INSURANCE because they're illegal. How dare we ever to get sick, and God forbid that we should fall ill to something serious like cancer, because then the right-wingers you pander to will forget all about the right-to-life propaganda and find a legal way to us to "die in peace" (aka, without healthcare) and you will agree with them. Jeez.

Is not like he was going to the march and his people will let him know. As for hcr. It might be the best thing for us. Rather than concentrating on having rights as undocumented, focus on getting documentation. And besides, aren't we getting cir? And when people see how horrible it is not to be able to get insurance, that might give cir a push.

So what you are saying is that we want CIR that gives people documents and a guest worker program and then give those who bypass that program insurance? While thta might be the right thing to do, is not for for immigration negotiations.

He doesn't need his people to tell him - he knows it's happening that day. I say it because I think the media are going to have a field day and create the perception to the rest of the country that even the president agrees that CIR is not that important and that he's best off on vacation somewhere. Anti-immigrant groups created the perception that the country refused CIR in 2007, but the uproar came from the same people that will froth at the mouth this year if something happens, NumbersUSA, FAIR, the tea-party, etc. NumbersUSA released a transcrip recently (you can Google it, I don't have a link right now) from a radio show in which they were telling supporters that bringing down CIR is all about perception and they did before and plan to do it again.

Bad perception is what almost killed health reform. It is only now that Obama decided to get involved that it seems it will pass pretty quickly. And my point about having passed a legalization program last year is that the Joe Wilsons of the Senate wouldn't have had their ridiculous claims even printed. My point, and which most people STILL don't understand: The healthcare reform legislation won't take full effect until 3 years from now. The only elements that take effect immediately are ban on pre-existing condition clauses and access to premiums. CIR works the same: DREAM doesn't automatically give us permanent residency. But if passed, we immediately get work authorization; must meet requirements before getting a green card and eventually, if qualifying, citizenship. All the writing has been set for years; the guidelines are pretty much set. Vote it up, or vote it down.

he has an also important trip to asia and australia, but if i remember he did postpone to meet with graham bc of a flight delay at scarolina, however, it will definitely be on the news and in his intel briefs the next morning, must be the reason he's atleast pretending to act now, good signs tho atleast the activity is picking up

Well, not only will the media have a fiasco, but he wants to avoid as much drama as possible. His best interest is to leave the country knowing that there will be a rally. He understands there are two battle between pro-immigrants and anti-immigration.

I BELIEVE he doesn't want to be in the middle of all of this when we do have the rally.
