I find it very suspicious that not even 'Hispanic' and 'progressive' media (except for dailykos, but I think Markos is part Hispanic) could not find time in their broadcasts yesterday to cover even 15 min. of the immigration march. And I didn't see anything in print in any of the principal pages of the local papers, or the NY Times for that matter. No one is denouncing it; not even Gutierrez. I don't know what kind of backroom deal he made with the President, but right now, we should believe no one; their promises are no longer accepted currency if you ask me. Obama just added on Thursday reforming "No Child Left Behind" to the current legislative work. One more bump to the back for CIR. It's a very clear pattern, and the organizations really need to come up with another plan QUICKLY before Congress blames the Easter bunny for not doing their jobs.

But what guarantees all 57+2 will vote for "yes"?

Last 2007 Bush time, in the Senate, there were several Democrats who didn't even vote or blatantly voted "no". Correct me if I am wrong.

I think there were several votes of "Yes" even from Republican sides.

Hmmm, I wonder about that now.

Remember we are talking about CIR. Not Dream Act. IMHO, CIR has much less chance to pass than DA. I am sure many agree with that. 12 M vs <1M. Big difference there.

Heck, there is also a chance that they might change their stance from CIR support to against CIR. Humans are very fickle and you never know until all votes are cast.

I am not sure whether we can get even get a single vote from Republican Senates, based on the trend of all republicans unite, just like all 177 house(100%) republicans united.

Sometimes I wonder whether really not giving up is really worth. While I stay here though, I will still try to view optimistic.

We have graham if every democrat + independant decides to vote which is highly unlikely.

As I said, the country is split right now 50-50% with those supporting/opposing the health care bill. Every democrat/republican will try his best to appease people who dont fall into 2 camps namely: liberal/conservative.

The independant and minorities will once again decide who shall control the house in november. If obama can play it smart and introduce the bill (even if it gets defeated) no hispanic shall vote republican. the small +/- 3% lead over republican in each district will ensure a democratic house in nov. The republicans realise it.. they arent going to piss any groups out there now, their strategy is to vent anger on the democrats.

Who else finds it funny that 200k people showed up at the foot steps of the government and the only way you would know about it is if you read between the lines of "Babies are not getting enough vitamin D" and "Toyota warned dealers in '02". And mind you, only on the day it actually happened, because I can't find shit about it anymore since the day turned to Monday.

im done.. im just going to wait it out and just go on with what i got for now... i'm going to give it to GOD... and let HIM handle this... the more I press on the topic and the more I dwell on the negativity, the more frustrated i get... honestly, there are more important things that i should be investing and focusing my energy on other than ranting about how messed up this system is...

if nothing happens this year, so be it... if there is GREAT!! but as of now we'll just see....

take care everyone.. be safe y'all... GOD BLESS.....

That’s an idiotic statement if I ever heard one.

Two weeks before inauguration, Mitch McConnell summoned his freshly-defeated troops to the Library of Congress to deliver them a message: oppose every piece of legislation proposed by the black man (President Obama). The notion that Republicans “were cooperating in the past” is benighted at best and plain retarded at worst.

McConnell is a conniving scoundrel, and his knowledge of parliamentary maneuvers is only rivaled by that of Senator Reid. As a result, he has been able to mount the most impressive display of rank obstructionism in modern US history. McCain’s opportunistic grandstanding is nothing but a senile hissy fit (someone check his Depend).

PS: The reason 13 Republicans voted for the jobs bill is because no one in their right mind who is up for reelection would vote against a jobs bill in the current economic climate.
