Tea Party Movement to Rally Against "Amnesty"

I find it incredibly frustrating and racist that barely a mention was made of the demonstration pro-reform last weekend, yet I bet Fake News and other "mainstream" channels will air these idiots foaming at the mouth in the next few weeks' giving precious free air time and promotional space.

The Tea Party movement is slowly starting to shift its focus to illegal immigration, an issue that’s beginning to see a lot of attention, with rallies during the next few days aimed at stopping amnesty. As New American Media reported in February, some Tea Partiers are quick to point out that immigration isn’t on the party’s platform. But the immigration issue is increasingly being picked up by individual activists in the group, and it’s becoming another aspect of the movement.

Tea Parties Against Amnesty announced in March that they would organize rallies across the country, April 15-17, to show their opposition to any proposed legislation for comprehensive immigration reform.
Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC), an anti-illegal immigration group, today made an announcement to supporters defending the Tea Party against accusations of racism and applauding the upcoming rallies.

A massive amount of new support is rushing into our operations. We have never seen this many new people sign up in our five year history. We want to give a special welcome to all of the new folks who have joined our email alert lists and taken interest of our Tea Party Against Amnesty events April 15-17…

Some of our diverse ALIPAC supporters are not fans of the Tea Party movement, however, they understand that 90% of Tea Party supporters oppose illegal immigration and amnesty with us. Most understand that we need broad coalitions to stop amnesty and reverse illegal immigration.

Some, unfortunately, are buying into the massive negative propaganda assault on the Tea Party movement. All we will say about that right now is that the Tea Party folks are not violent and not racist. They are being attacked in the same way our Border Security Movement has been attacked. They are being attacked because the powers that favor elite rule in America want to stop and divert the political revolution that is growing in America today.

If anyone reading this has any doubts about the Tea Party movement, you should stop listening to CNN and MSNBC and actually go to one of these events and talk with the people there to understand the realities vs. the propaganda.

ALIPAC is proud to stand with other Americans who share our cause of border security and enforcement of our immigration laws, and we will stand up against those who want to assault free speech and freedom of assembly for Americans.

There are currently 52 protest events posted on AgainstAmnesty.com, with 9,482 protest supporters signed up. The rallies will include some well-known Tea Party and anti-immigration speakers, including former Rep. Tom Tancredo, the outspoken founder and co-chairman of border security, anti-immigration PAC Team America; J.D. Hayworth, John McCain’s Republican opponent for U.S. senate; Arizona’s controversial sheriff, Joe Arpaio; and ALIPAC President William Gheen.

The really irritating thing about this story is that these people don't really know what they are talking about, just like with everything else they protest. They sit here and worry about the deficit, but where were they for eight years when they voted for and supported Bush? They are angry about Health Care reform and call it socialized medicine, but fail to realize that what was passed this year was actually McCain's health insurance reform plan and that the government will not run any of the insurance companies people will buy from. They say they are opposed to "amnesty," but the problem is that we have had fifteen years of the "no amnesty" approach to immigration and it has done absolutely nothing to fix the problem. They claim that they are not racist, but undoubtedly they love the new law in Arizona which can be nothing but racist since it will have to rely on racial profiling.

Ugh, this has been a very bad day in the news section.

Now that you mention it I did not see anything on CNN about the 3-21-10 rally.

But there was plenty about the inane handful of tea party people who were in Washington and didn't know what they were talking about but still marched against Health Care reform.

This is a big lie by Alicrap to try to make it look like the tea party movement is against Comprehensive immigration reform.

I am sure he would say the same thing about Alipac. The mods should delete this thread because we are just giving alipac more exposure than they deserve. The tea party movement has nothing to do with these so called "tea parties against amnesty".

As a regular contributor to Alipac (don't ask), I can tell you that Gheen is bullshitting again. There hasn't been a hike in the number of members over there. In fact, it's been pretty dead lately. My guess is that most of these people found the Tea Party movement more appealing/stimulating and have now moved on to sites catering to that like 912project and stuff.

tea baggers are far right morons, no matter what would democrats do they wouldnt get their votes anyhow, only thing they can do is to scare away the right wing repubs who are not on our side to begin with

I saw it signs one time when they had a rally last month or something. I didnt pay much attention...especially since Sarah Failin was giving a speech.

Yes, this is just what I say. How can they enact this law without profiling someone. I mean I look perfectly assimilated and American and unless you pull me over because I am brown skinned you'd never know I am here without papers. Somewhere I also read about the potential of having false positives (that is arresting and detaining people that are actually here with status but didn't have the proper documentation on them). This is the main reason why this law cannot remain.

There are Americans out there who believe Arizona is taking a really big step in a positive direction with this, but little do they realize that immigrants are not that stupid, the will find a way around this.
