Don't these two kind of say the opposite things? One says they will deport those who overstayed, and the other says there will be a way to become legal? I don't understand..are they saying they will only legalize people who CAME ILLEGALLY but WILL DEPORT WHO OVERSTAYED? |
The bill will include a "cutting" DATE (like previous bills). People who can prove that was living on or before that date in the USA will be elegible to apply for a temp status, the removal procedure will apply for people who got here after that date.
IRCA in 1986 granted amnesy to people who entered the country before January 1st 1982.
