haha not like it's a blogspot blog, dude. Plus all you gotta do is turn on your TV to Univision and all your proof is there. Al Punto with Jorge Ramos to be exact. Just in case saying Univision only isn't credible enough For you.

Just a thought though...
I could give a shit about the Republican party or the Democrats or Reid and Maccain and their grandmothers or their reputation. At the end of the day we all know if they vote and it fails it'll be years before they try anything again. So I rather have a sure answer for my life than let it go down the drain just so Republicans can get a little more bad rep. Because honestly itll be very little bad rep if they vote now and they all go against it. The media will twist shit around and make it seem like they just didnt think that the bill moved forward was "just" (like they did in 2007), they will still have their teabagger community(which is only getting happier by the more conservative the party gets) and they will also still have the hispanic community who already have their papers and could give two shits about immigrants (Cubans, Puerto Ricans, etc.) and we will not have shit and basically will all get deported. So I really don't want them to move anything forward just so it can fail.

EDIT: sorry for the foul mouth lol.... Im just getting more and more frustrated with every news I see about immigration. >=S

Yeah, because every immigrant is Hispanic and we all understand Spanish, great idea... dude.

And frankly, yeah the blog from the hill has more credibility than blogspot, but so what? It is still an opinionated piece that used bits and pieces from the whole conversation without actually including all the positive stuff that Reid said.

Here is another article summarizing the same conversation, with the rest of the quotes and with a positive spin:

Reid: GOP is “anti-immigrant party” for blocking reform

Quote:
He said both immigration and energy bills could pass this year.

“(This) is not an either or situation, there is plenty of time for us to do energy, there is plenty of time for us to do immigration. We need to do both; they are both extremely important to the country.”

Reid thinks the Arizona law can help galvanize action on immigration.
It's completely retarded to post blogs, because they cut up articles and conversations and choose quotes that they see fit that will support their opinions. Just post facts people....the news section has gotten completely out of control. People are starting to post blogs, editorials, their own opinions, and there was even someone who tried to post an article from an alipac website.

So you pointed me to a Spanish-language tv station??

Not to mention the most important point, Reid never said that he isn't committed to the CIR this year, he actually said the opposite as is clearly proven by his actual quote from the conversation that I provided in my previous post. Your defense of this blog is pointless.

Ok people, obviously not every illegal immigrant is Hispanic - only roughly 60%, which make the majority. Hispanics bear the brunt of anti-immigrant sentiment every day; when immigration reform is discussed in the media and politics, they refer and illustrate, guess who? Hispanics. When immigration reform passes, it will be because of pressure and mobilization of Hispanic lawmakers and organizations. The ONLY other group of illegal immigrants that is currently active in this legalization push is the Irish lobby for Immigration Reform. Yeah, all of you who aren't Hispanic cannot be assumed to speak Spanish, but I don't see the illegal Polish, Chinese, Korean, Brazilians, or ROMANIANS of which there are a TON here, and I'm in WA state; go out in public and push for this benefit. They are all waiting around in the fringes to benefit from CIR without doing the hard work. Relax, we are all in the same boat; the difference is that YOU my non-Hispanic dreamer, are not the target of laws like the one in AZ.

Latinos should NOT accept being taken for granted - and Obama and the Dems shouldn't be rewarded for their betrayal. That is what I gather from these interviews: "Well, it's hard"..."Republicans won't cooperate"..."I'm only the President " (this one is a real laugh- NOT). Republicans are not blocking reform, Mr. Reid, that can only be done when it's on the voting floor. Obama and the Dems are even afraid of their preference of a Supreme Court nominee that will anger conservatives, so they are ready to announce their choice tomorrow and it will be a "compromise" choice, not THE best choice. That tells a lot of their power to govern. Idiots.

Sen.Bennett of UT was just ousted yesterday; Sen.Dodd is retiring; Sen.Shelby said on "Meet the Press" two weeks ago along with Sen.Durbin that immigration reform could receive his vote as long as he SEES A BILL. There's no evidence that the Dems or President will tackle this next year, or the year after, because they don't keep their promises, and everything looks to more Republican gains in Congress, so CIR must be tackled before the August recess.

I cannot agree with this more, because judging from Sen. Bennett's defeat, the Tea Party is actually gaining a lot of momentum which just spells trouble for Democrats. Even if they keep their majority in Congress, without a supermajority it will very hard to convince any conservative to vote in favor of any pro-immigration bill if they know they might share the same fate as Sen. Bennett.

The chances for CIR are definitely higher now than when we have more Tea Party members in Congress.

Could not agree with you more, but let's not get sidetracked here. Like you said we're all on the same boat and we need to be paddling in the same direction, not fighting amongst ourselves. If you don't speak Spanish then don't go to Univision, go to a tv station that broadcasts in your language, if they are covering CIR perfect, but if not then Univision, CNN, and MSNBC is all you are left with gebodupa. Watch those channels. CNN and MSNBC. Or you can always watch TYT. I like them better than any other tv station.
