Dumping two volatile materials in one barrel wont make it any more stable. The problem is that we got no votes to lose, we are trying to get 60, if CIR would have 80 yeas then maybe we could try to push gay marriage sponsorship, but at current state no freaking way.

and the funny thing is that most gay groups would support us anyway. so why do this? if we lose a vote and passing by 10 anyway and it would ad a week, then yeah. go for it. but when we have days/weeks and people are getting deported everyday, leave it out. down the road we may pick up that fight.

another example of how we want everything at once.

All this reminds me last CIR attempt by Bush administration. It had been changed so much that it became unreasonably stupid. Founders of the bill voted No due to ridiculous amendments. I'm not against gays. I'm straights buy I worked with few gays and I enjoyed working with them (as long as they don't make out in front of me But bringing same sex agenda will complicate CIR. It's already will be really hard to pass.

two of the walkers that walked fro miami to washington are gay. they are also partners. one has green card and the other is undocumented. should their relationship be where they would married, they wouldn't be able to for many reasons. and hence, no green card. had the guy with the green card be in a relationship with the female walker, they could married and get green card.

what we can offer under DREAM is that the gay walker could get his legal status.

You're a mind reader Sonawa...Keep it coming, don't let expectations bring you down, buddy.

Anyway, I wasn't saying I am pro amending the DA to include domestic partnership, what I was saying is that if that's the only option we got, then how can we make the most of it. I wouldn't want to say that we don't want it in DA bill, but we all know that it'll hinder it even further.

Wow, so we're just supposed to completely ignore all of the undocumented youth who are also queer or otherwise LGBTQ? Remember the Dream Act 5 who held the sit-in in McCain's office? 3 out of the 5 of them were LGBTQ.

The movement has already allied itself with the LGBT movement, and we shall continue to. National Coming Out Undocumented Week a few months ago was unified by the ideas of Harvey Milk, a leader in the gay rights movement. That's when we openly became 'Undocumented & Unafraid.'

UAFA (the Uniting American Families Act) which would allow same-sex partners to be sponsored for immigration benefits has been around for over a decade, like Dream. It's come close to passage, like Dream. We are fighting the same fight.

To clarify, UAFA components are not included in Dream, but are already in some CIR proposals & Gutierrez, though he excluded it from CIRASAP, recently endorsed its inclusion in a reform package.

And lastly, CIR is dead this year. Reid is up for a challenging re-election campaign, and has continued to flip-flop while pandering to the Latino vote that he so desperately needs in Nevada, so no, I don't trust anything the man says.
