I'm sure there are more Repubs that think like this...they need to bring DA up for a vote already!

And if in fact the provision in the law says that in order to obtain the scholarship, you have to be in the process of applying for citizenship and becoming legal, then I’d rather have that kid a neurosurgeon than a tomato picker. I’d rather him be a taxpayer than a tax taker. And for that I offer no apology.

I really appreciate the compassion some people use when analyzing this situation, I just wish those that have the power to actually make a difference would step up and at least for starters help those who came here as children and have been good and beneficial to the society. If for nothing else do it because deep in your heart you know it's the RIGHT thing to do. It's things like this that keep me believing that something will happen to change our lives. For all of the hate and anti-immigrant sentiment out there, there are a lot of people that actually use common sense when it comes to the immigration debate.
