I hope they all gather up sometime before Tuesday and set up a better strategy. I think that whole DADT is a lot of bullshit!

Obama loves shooting himself in the foot. Makes me wonder whether he's the one calling the shots.

I wonder if the veto threat was given knowing full well dream act would be pushed in this bill? That way he would use the veto as a bargaining compromise to gain more republican support for dream. I mean, an engine that's controversial? Does it run on blood of first born children while spewing arsenic or what?

He didn't say anything about the veto threat on that video, he's talking about a whole different issue which is Immigration Reform, and about the Republican senators being opposed to several initiatives, please post accurate information, don't confuse people even more. No I'm not a mod, but I sure sounded like one.

How is this confusing? He says he will sign the Dream act into law, The Dream act that Senator Reid is petitioning for. Which means he won't veto the bill.

If you go back to the first post of this thread you will see that the veto threat was for the Defense Authorization Bill, and not for DREAM. Obama supports DREAM, but threatened to veto the Defense bill if it included something about a fighter jet engine. If DREAM is succesfully attached to the Defense bill, but the defense bill is vetoed, then DREAM does not pass either. But don't worry about this engine thing, the Defense bill is a must pass, so once DREAM is attached, it will pass along with the DOD bill. In other words, our problem is not the veto threat regarding the fighter jet engine, our problem and, or challenge is getting DREAM attached to the Defense bill, so forget about this veto threat, and let's keep calling, faxing, emailing, and joining DREAM activism sites.
