NOTHING... positive at least. It'll basically just kill any chance the Dream Act had of passing.

Ok , I believe dream act will only pass if it will come as a part of CIR. As no Republicans will vote for it as a standalone bill. They have made if very clear. So we all need to push for CIR, now they all need to fix the immigration system and they are not goin to do any piecemeal. It has to be a whole pkg which will be in the form CIR.

At least 2 republicans ( Lugar and Bennett) have promised to vote for the dream act if it's a standalone bill. CIR is not going to happen this year or next year since it looks very likely that the GOP might take control of the house.

New try after elections
The bill, which would affect thousands of Florida residents, is expected to come up again during the lame-duck session of Congress after the November elections.

Honestly if GOP senators like Lugar, Bennet vote for it, i'm sure we can get other moderate senators like Snowe, Collins etc to vote for it too.

Yes they always have some excuse not to vote. If it comes as stand alone bill not only republicans won'T vote but also some dems maynot vote either as they want full CIR bill. These are just the game they are playing. The only way immigration will be handled as a CIR BILL so they can tackle all the aspects together, otherwise if durbin had the votes he would had introduced it as a stand alone bill.

Well if republicans were that sympathatic they would had it passed it by now. So, they have no feelings for anyone, they don't even want to give citizenship to the kids born to illegals. They will be force to pass some kind of CIR bill so it can comes off the table as immigration is costing them alot since 2008. They want this chapter to be closed now, so they will come to the table and work something on. As a whole pkg not a piecemeal. That's wht i feel.

I hope I'm right too, as they have big election coming in 2012 for president. I remember reading somewhere that Romney wants immigration to be resolved before 2012 elections, as it played negative role towards republicans. So, he is trying republicans should get somewhere in the middle and get this thing over with it. So having said that I hope instead playing politics, they should realize it that they are playing with millions of human beings existence and their real life problems and freedom. In the third world countries as America plays important role in the freedom and human rights, n look how they are treating young kids and illegals in their own backyard. Saaaad

I guess since we can't vote, it really doesn't matter to Congress whether or not they pass any Immigration Reform
Dream Act could be passed very soon, but I don't see CIR passing Congress anytime before 2013.

Sorry to say that, but 2011 is when Obama starts to campaign, 2012 is presidential election year; I doubt that anything can be done at that time. Even Rahm Emanuel, who is Obama's chief of staff, once said within the white house that CIR has to wait until 2013

wtf are you talking about.. nothing is getting better for us. the poll numbers still suck. republicans are poised to gain many seats after november 2nd. dream act isn't even attached to the defense bill. it NEVER was attached to the defense bill. the defense bill made it out of the senate arms committee without the dream act provision. the defense bill made it out of the house committee without the dream act provision. dream act was never attached to neither house or senate version of the defense bill. reid WANTED and said he would try to attach dream act as an amendment to defense bill. but the republicans wouldn't let him. so its never been attached! to have dream attached to a bill, the bill has to go through mark up and be voted out of the committee with dream attached or dream act has to be voted on as an amendment after a bill has survived the cloture vote. which hasn't happened with the defense bill. the old dream act (s. 729) was never a part of defense bill and the new STANDALONE dream act (s. 3827) isn't attached to the defense bill. if you dont know anything just be quiet. if dream is a part of cir then it might as well give hagan all the more reason to oppose dream as standalone because shes said time and time again she opposes amnesty and that she wants it as a part of cir. and i'm not just taking out of my ass like you always are like when you said ohh hagan is leaning toward a yes or lemieux is a yes or hatch is a yes or brown is leaning toward a yes or we have at least 63-62 votes for dream or we have at least 3 republicans on board with yes for dream as standalone. hagan, hatch, lemieux, brown none of them said hey mr. DA User.. i'm leaning towards voting yes for the dream act. i know hagan wants dream as part of cir because hagan did tell me herself i have a letter from her (very recently) that says so and shes said before that thats her position on dream act. oh and mccain probably won't vote for it either because he told me so himself i just got a letter from mccain yesterday.
