And yes, DREAM will restrict you from it. It is one way or another, and you've chosen yours.
Well I am just saying. I am only 17, and I'm thinking of a plan B if dream act doesn't pass. My only chance would be to get marry to a us citizen and file for legal recidency.

I have a few questions. Forgive me if they're stupid but I kinda don't really understand. So... The version which will be up for a vote sometime soon will be the one that offers in- state tuition?
Another thing, The deadline for application would still be one year from the enactment of the bill?
Also, we will receive a permit to work along with a Driver's License immediately? Like, we won't have to wait for 5 years to get that right? Thank you for answering my questions!

I'm confused. I understand this: "Under both bills, the Attorney General is required to stay the removal proceedings of children who meet the basic eligibility requirements for DREAM, are at least 12 years old, and are enrolled full-time in primary or secondary school. For children who meet these requirements but are not in removal proceedings, H.R. 6497 directs the DHS Secretary not to commence removal proceedings against them."
But, what is their status going to be until they meet the other requirements (graduating high school, and college and/or military, etc.)?

I just can't think clearly now, sorry, and I'm worried about my little brother (he's 12).

The current version excludes in state tuition, and yes the deadline would be one year from enactment of the bill. You will also received Drivers license and would also be eligible to work for those first 5 years, IF DREAM were to pass. Lets hope and keep faith. Most importantly have faith in God, and pray

I've heard you mention this god-forsaken hellhole of a job that is just as hot and just as punishing everyday before. I've had several shitty ass jobs, so just wondering, what do you do now?

dreamy14 pointed out in this same thread earlier that those who are going through the legalization process by family petition can't benefit from the Dream Act, is that true? My parents just got their permanent residency so I can pursue that option through 245i while being in the US but I am worried that I might be shutting myself out of another option. It is especially worrisome because I am above 21 and it will take many years for me to get legalized through family petition.
