After taking on vampires, Chris Weitz sinks his teeth into grittier, real-life fare with his upcoming movie "A Better Life."
Weitz, who most recently directed "The Twilight Saga: New Moon," grapples with the plight of immigrants in his latest effort. The movie follows a Los Angeles gardener -- played by Demian Bichir of "Weeds" -- and his efforts to shield his son from the influence of local gangs.
Sometimes there are bigger dangers than sparkly bloodsuckers.
"A Better Life" goes into limited release on June 24 via Summit Entertainment. Check out the trailer below.
