The DREAM Act would allow a select group of immigrant students with great potential to contribute more fully to America. These young people were brought to the U.S. as children and should not be punished for their parents’ mistakes. The DREAM Act would give these students a chance to earn legal status if they:

Came to the U.S. as children (15 or under)
Are long-term U.S. residents (continuous physical presence for at least five years)
Have good moral character
Graduate from high school or obtain a GED
Complete two years of college or military service in good standing

attach a E-verify and border security bill to the dream act and some GOP might vote for it.

Lets remember that it was 5 democrats that didn't allow the DREAM Act to pass last time around. We had enough GOP votes. We need to make sure that democrats have their ducks in a row before they put this bill up for a vote.

I mean things are different this time in the house . They need to make the dream act more attractive to GOP members in the house , that's the problem this time not so much the senate but the house. With more border enforcement and some cash thrown at border states for border security we "might" have a shot at this thing

Simply put it like this, if they don't vote for it, forget about the hispanic vote in 2012 for presidential, state and local government elections.

We need to do that but that also is going to be part of CIR.

Hey guys since this bill has absolutely 0 chance of passing watch McCain hop on the train and say blah blah dream act is great. he wins some immigrant voter base with false hope, and legislation he doesn't believe in but supports fails once again, so hes happy with his win win. and then off course hell come out with some more border security bull shit so that the already ignorant USC jump back on his train.

This is starting to feel like a bad made for tv movie.
