Degree is just a piece of paper. Its not what you know, its who you know.

In this unstable economy, employers want folks with skills and experience. Companies don't want to spend time to train a new graduate plus they can outsource the jobs elsewhere.

It's funny really-I don't hold a BS or Associates yet I can run circles around people with masters...so what does that tell you about the "value" of a degree?

Dream act has no chance this year or next. The leader of the house will never allow such things to come down to his floor. I am quite confident though, that if Obama is elected in 2012, that he will use his power for Dream Act or relief, or whatever it is he has power to do.

There is no doubt that a college degree is extremely valuable and doesn't depreciate in value. However, you have to be able to apply your knowledge into the real world as well and translate what you've learned in school. This is the main reason why most of us were brought here. College degree opens up all sorts of doors. Only you have to be willing to open them...the diploma will not do it by itself.

Here in the U.S and in most developed countries? I think not.

Sure, it is an accomplisment but its a waste if you cannot use it in real life in anyway.

There are plenty of successful folks who make it without a degree.

Nowadays, I read recently that an average graduate has a debt of $23K when they come out and with the unemployment over 10% in the country, its not that easy to land a decent job.

At the end of the day, it comes down to Money!
