Yeah . . . And what happens when you get your degree, and you are still undocumented? You are practically screwed to AN EXTENT. EDUCATED YES, BUT THE DEGREE CANNOT BE UTILIZED . . .

I assume you just got out of high school. I understand your concern, but I think you are a little different situation than those who are undocumented and are about to graduate from college or have all ready accomplished that goal. All my undocumented seniors and graduates . . . you know what's up with the frustration.

because i don't want people to say that i am depending on their money, and that we take advantage of them, and that that's the only reason we come here for, that this is a free ride... todas esas maricadas... they do tick me off.

Work permit is much better. It is possible to get through college without financial aid if you have a job. Plus you get the added benefit of being able to use your degree afterwards. Working for something is much better it being handed to you, in my opinion.

Could anyone tell me how a undocumented student should apply to college or University? How to pply for a scholarship? Should she lie about her legal status? what should she mark on the question Citizen or permanent residence?
If she apply as a international student , she has no option to a scholarship. Please let me know about this process.

The problem with DL is that Governor Brown has publicly stated that he opposes the idea of giving undocumented inidviduals this privelege.

Going to a 2-year college then to a university for your upper division classes saves you ALOT of money. But, given the budget problems in California, I do not know if every community college guarantees the transfer to a university now. You might want to check on that.

I would not lie about your status. You risk expulsion!!!! In California, you are able to pay the same tuition as legal residents if you qualify for AB 540 status. When you apply to a college or university and inform the particular institution about your undocumented status, they usually send you follow-up documents that inform you about the California Law AB 540; an application is also included. If you apply and you don't receive these forms, go to the institution and ask how you can qualify under AB 540 or else you are going to CHARGED BIG TIME.

Another way would be to approach DL for dreamers like the DREAM Act in Illinois: Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't the Illinois DREAM Act aim to give dreamers a driving certificate????????????
