Religious leaders are banding together to get the Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors Act passed.
The measure prevents the deportation of illegal immigrants who are studying at American colleges or have served in the military.

Widely known as the DREAM Act, it came close to being passed in December before being blocked by a Senate filibuster.

The legislation was reintroduced in May.

And with the Latino voting bloc growing in numbers, organizers of a new statewide effort say the time to build momentum is now.

"Let's make sure Congress hears from us so that we can make it harder for them to take a pass,” said Diane Steinman of the New York State Interfaith Network for Immigration Reform.

“Every year there's more and more support for the DREAM Act, so the bill introduction really represents the growing movement to support the DREAM Act until it passes," said Chung-Wah Hong, executive director of the New York Immigration Coalition.

The effort is part of a national initiative spearheaded by Illinois Senator Richard Durbin.

So maybe we can make a speculation that DA will be debated in the Senate? or it might just be talk/politics.

A policy that calls for legalization will be debated somehow. You watch. Fingers crossed . . . apple sauce, everyone.

Adjust the language of that bill.
We don't need citizenship just green cards with 0 public benefits except S.S., medicare, medical, medicaid, no chain immigration except for spouses and children and they would only get green cards which can be taken away if violate any major laws, nothing else including public educational funding. Puerto Ricans dont get to vote, and their more American on paper then any of us so why are we asking for those kinds of rights?
We will never become a future voting base, we will pour in taxes and take nothing in return and this will no longer be a party lines issue, and in no way is it Amnesty (Its just an opportunity to survive).
Lets change the tone and really give this a chance.
