Really no surprise, considering this bill is doing exactly what previous GOP bills (Arms act come to mind) have done in the past: which is to effectively break up the Latino voting bloc when they willingly know that their so called immigration bills will fail, and fail hard. Let me be clear, whatever the GOP is planning to try and split the Latino vote with legislation, IT WILL FAIL. There won't be support from either side this time. Not in this political climate right now.

Really no reason for anyone to get mad at either the GOP or Democrats considering they're all guilty more or less for doing this. Democrats are definitely more sympathetic though with people like Gutierrez and Durbin. In fact, I've seen some fiery speeches made from African-American representatives during the 2010 DA debacle. That was a sight to see.
What's funny is that the Juan Williams manuscript clearly has Rubio saying that his solution would not bar us from citizenship. A quote. The writer in this article seems to be making an analysis of what he/she thinks Rubio is thinking in terms of citizenship/non-citizenship. I am going to wait for the bill to be presented before I start slamming Rubio.

Keep in mind, the writer is Rep. Gutierrez himself.

The gut of this fairly lengthy article is to merely speculate (With explicit detail, mind you) on what is going to happen, which is, 1.) Whatever scheme Rubio and other GOP are planning will most likely never be the final result and 2.) Gutierrez is saying it will not pass.

The key word is likely. The details of the bill have not been presented. If Democrats block a reasonable proposal, they are as fucked up as the ultra-right GOP senators.

And cause a flip-flop to their beliefs against the Tea Party? Not going to happen. This bill is very wishy-washy thus far and won't be publicized enough to make an impact for the general elections.

Ha! This country has some of the dumbest leftists. Expect it. What are you talking about wish washy? Did you read the newest threads? Rubio's idea is reasonable thus far: we would get a visa and be able to apply for residency and citizenship like everyone else. Admit it; Rubio is making a sincere effort. Read the newest threads. He even wants to meet with us, so we can give him ideas. He could care less about what people who are not in our situation are saying. He wants to hear our ideas, our feedback. If we reject this opportunity, we are in no position to complain later on.

What do you want with your legalization? A million bucks, a Ferrari, and a mansion? Come on!

I never once stated my position on the bill rather than give an report from merely observing the bill in terms of the current political atmosphere. I'm not against the bill in its form since it would provide some relief to majority of the people out there. I already stated my honest opinion about Rubio (something along the lines of a true flip-flopper, etc) but in the end, the effort will be all for naught when Gutierrez is against it, you can bet that majority of DREAM ACT portals such as these will steer against this legislation out. Do I want to be proven wrong? Yes, of course, but otherwise, I am not holding my breath for any type of legislation to be passed this year.

I'm just stating what is more likely to happen, in which the support for this bill will not be met from either party.

Oh, and I heard you had a petition, despite our slight difference in opinions, I am willing to sign any petition support of a legislation from any party designed to help majority of Dream act beneficiaries. I may be a bit calloused, but I'm not unfair.

Hi, your position is fair. I am just so frustrated. If Democrats block it, I will be super angry.

Thank you for signing my petition.
