We had the ARMS Act so a requirement for a Dreamer in the Military does not surprise me. What about Education?

Maybe they should add community service also for certain hours.

This bill has a very good chance of passing especially with Durbin and Rubio coming together.

Not a problem in House since it is a GOP bill.

I was thinking of my own compromise. This may sound like a crazy idea but how about a points based system for US residency within Dream act ? You'd meet certain criteria to gain points toward US residency while working on Rubio's variation of a visa!

If that is not enough,US permanent residents legalized through the Dream act points system cannot petition for any family members until/unless they gain US naturalization.

Other countries do it. It makes sense. How about no petition to anyone ever.

Point based system would definitely be the best way to go.

Mr. Rubio said he favored giving nonimmigrant visas to young illegal immigrants brought into the country by a certain date

ughhhh what? we've got problems if that's the case..... unless it was an error on part of the reporter.

Entry requirement has been changed from age to a Date of Entry....

i'd be ok with that as long as the date is within at least 3 years from right now.

Point based systems are a great way to go. Base it on English proficiency, education, service, what have you. Sort of like the way UK does it

Yup. Get Durbin to agree with Rubio. And, the other Dems. will most likely follow.

Dudes, I am curious. If the bill is fair, how do you think the 5 Dems. that voted against the DA in 2010 will vote for this bill? Yea?
