No it isn't. A proof of residency is a legal visa.

Its not a matter of English. I am a desperate one that at times the mind only captures the positive and omits the negative, hence I saw the headline (effective May 7) and voided everything else in the article grrr. So I received a letter from DPS yesterday stating that it is time for renewal, $25 fee, provide a proof of social security (which i have with a not allowed to work inscribed on it), and reading along the lines ask in case to provide legal status to show birth certificate, etc. Well I figured I could try and go for that renewal...whats the worst that could happen? a NO i guess.
