Don't know guys. Let's wait to see what happens. I think Romney will need to be consistent once a plan is out though. He cannot be that fucking stupid and pull a flip-flop on the bill. That's political suicide. Fucker is going to come across as the American Boris Yeltsin if he does that. Who wants a leader who flip-flops on shit so frequently? That's fucking scary--even for your die-hard conservatives.
I disagree with you, I think that he will flip flop because he has nothing to loose. He can only gain immigrant votes. Republicans will not be voting for him, they will be voting against Obama.

Yes. He does it on everything already, plus I think he knows that unless some black swan event happens he pretty much is screwed in the electoral game. If the election were today, Obama's already locked up 288 electoral college votes.

Romney will be the new John Kerry, just wait and see, it's in his nature to just flip on and off so that he can be seen as either on or off for such controversial legislations. he's done it on health care(his actual record, and his words), gay marriage(again record and words), and already he's said he's somehow for sb 1070 as a model for the nation, "studying" rubio's dream act, is only for the ARMS act, and for harsher border enforcement. Flip-flopper much already? Mark my words, he'll do it.

Mitten's already has flip-flopped on various controversial stances before, such as:

Abortion - Pro-choice to Pro-Life
Immigration - No explanation needed. Something along the lines of "self-deportation," etc to now almost support this.
Auto-industry bailout - Wrote an article on why the big 3 should be allowed to fail and not be bailed out. Now wants credit for the bailout.

Seriously, anybody who actually thinks Romney would be a capable leader for this country is highly delusional. I would suggest actually researching and thinking for yourselves before blindly voting/supporting for Romney because he doesn't look like Obama. Heck, it's not even about Romney anymore, the presidential race basically has come down to Obama vs. People who hate Obama. The GOP base does not care who their candidate is, they just want Obama out of the office because of propaganda by Rove and the Koch brothers. This election goes way beyond immigration and more about the future of this country.

tl;dr: Too much Obama hate, not enough looking at the bigger picture. Romney has a distinct history of flip-flopping.

Well, I sure hope someone biatch slaps him because we need all the damn endorsement we need when the bill goes down for a vote.

I think the votes will be fairly equal on House and Senate from GOP's and Democrats.

Sen. Marco Rubio might end up as Mitt Romney’s vice presidential running mate. But as demonstrated at this early stage of the general election campaign, the Florida Republican will be among the former Massachusetts governor’s most high-profile surrogates.
Rubio’s fulfillment of this role — potentially crucial for Romney given the Senator’s position as a leading Hispanic Republican and a conservative stalwart — was on display this past weekend during a lengthy interview on “Fox News Sunday.”

How bad will it look for Rubio and Romney if they can't get republicans in the house to support this GOP version of the dream act? If the senate manages to pass this bill, a lot of pressure will be on Speaker Boehner to bring this to the house floor for a vote. When it fails in the house because of republican opposition, democrats will have even more ammunition to paint the GOP as being anti-immigrant and anti- Hispanic.

Quote:
Sen. Charles Schumer (N.Y.), who heads the Senate Democrats’ policy and communication shop, said Boehner’s comments “show how far Sen. Rubio has to go in trying to gain Republican support for any proposal to help immigrant students.” Schumer, who also is chairman of the Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration, Refugees and Border Security, added, “Sen. Rubio should be commended for trying to advance the conversation, but he is likely to find his party unwilling to abandon its hard-line, anti-immigrant stance.”
