Actually, simply because we do have some sort of control and that is by simply staying informed.

Approved Deferred Action comes with a Notice To Appear and there simply have to be some protections just in case.

Instead of speculations and guesses, it might be better to wait for more details to be released first from the appropriate offices.

Indeed, speculating that everything works out with an Administration that has had record removals.

I am with you. We should be thankful for the opportunity. Now, we can be alert and pressure for more things. But, we don't have to be all freaking crazy and suicidal. Optimism and activism can go together.

^^^ Exactly! Instead of asking way too many questions and coming across as ungrateful, we should at least calm down, get the documentation processed first, then deal with any other subsequent issues. A member of this forum already confirmed that he/she went through the Prosecutorial Discretion process and already has a work permit so we at least have an idea of how it will be implemented. I'm sure that with time more questions will be answered, but freaking out and still being on edge doesn't help anything.

None of us expected this to happen as quickly as it did, so regardless of the process, I know that we're in a much better position than we were in last week.

I highly doubt they'll hand out 800,000 Notice's to Appear. A Notice to Appear gives you a specific date to appear in front of immigration judge. Unless they hand them out and cancel all the appearance dates, which doesn't make sense either. This will probably be a special case where deferred action is granted without handing out the Notice to Appear. I highly doubt they'll start removal proceedings on people they don't intend on deporting.

But let's wait until we see the official process in a couple of months. But clogging the courts with 800,000 cases doesn't seem to be way they'll go.

Thanks for your input Waterwise12, I remember reading that you went through the Prosecutorial Discretion process in another thread and that you were able to successfully obtain a work permit after going through the process.
