I was 19 when the original Dream Act was introduced in 2001. I was 25 in October 2007 when the Dream failed. 28 in December 2010 when it failed. I was barely able to qualify for the new discretionary policty. If the dream act were to pass next year with 30 or below being the age I would not qualify. For all of you that take shelter in your age, recall that I was 25 in 07 when the Dream Act had a good chance of passing. Don't count of being "under" 30 for the Dream Act.

The good thing about deferred action is that, I am pretty sure that the Dream Act whenever it passes, will dictate that all those that benefited from this deferred action will be elegible. I mean what good would it be if all people with deferred action that are over 30 do not qualify...

So this is why I see this Obama move as a good way to protect our selves. If you made the age cap for deferred action, I think you at least have some logically driven hope that you will qualify for dream act even if when it passes you are over 30. It will be the new retro provision I believe.

If anyone thinks it would make sense, back me up.

I am 23 and I know time flies by...

The Dream Act did not pass in 2010 due to 5 chicken-shits. Chicken shits that love to ruin peoples' lives.

I think your statement made a lot of sense.

It would "freeze" our ages so to speak.

Age freeze to what date? You could be 34 in 2001 and now are 45.

He meant that everyone affected by the 30 and under provision of the memo, will be affected by subsequent changes that are built upon the memo even if they age out to 40 or theoretically whatever age as a max age was not set.

It's protection once you age out of this policy change.

Well,

They not qualify under any of the dream act versions. I really do not know why they set the 16 age requirement. I do not know if there is any immigration law that references that age.

Either way, it would be very hard to pass a bill that makes that age group elegible.

I mean, I wish every one could benefit.
