Renewal sent: 8-4-2014.
Notification received: 8-7-2014. Routed to Nebraska.
Biometrics letter received: 8-22-2014 for 9-5-2014.
New approval: 10-31-2014.

I've also seen that all the RFE's have been from the California service center....

That's what I figured but thought I might have missed something.

By the way, there's a huge building in Anaheim with USCIS signs everywhere. I wonder what that's all about.

The Anaheim Center is for asylums and NACARA cases. And there is no need to feel terrible/nervous about RFEs. Really it means that all that "you only get one shot! If you miss something, it's over!" talk wasn't that accurate. It means that if you're missing something or the officer isn't convinced of something, they're giving chances to add to applications/fix it/explain.
