So i DON'T a SSN for a driver license right?
I have my work authorization card and a document stating that i was approved for DACA.

It would be sweet if i could by pass the SSA and just get my DL directly from the DMV.

I don't work for DMV. Never had a DL either. Look in the DMV website, or post your question in the Approvals thread to see what they are doing.

This only benefits those who have a I821D approved, but not an I765, if you have an EAD you're eligible for a SSN thus you still need an SSN to get a DL.
This is for those who failed to acquire a EAD thus not eligible for SSN, but still DACA approved.

This CA license news is pretty dumb, since once you are approved for DACA and get your work permit you can get a SSN and a DL in any of the states. If you have been approved don't hesitate to go and applied for a SSN and once you get your SSN then go immediately to go get a DL

You do not need an SSN to get a license. Just the proof that you got DACA. But I'm not sure when it takes effect.

From what I see from NotAPro

This law applies to people who have this situation.
Approved for 1821-D (DACA)
Not approved for I-765

People who are:
Approved for I-765 get an SSN thus one can get a DL.
Since you need a SSN to obtain DL.

F@#k that! In that case, i will just apply for my SSN and then apply for my DL.

The only reason why i have not applied for SSN yet is because people keep saying to wait 11 business days for our records to be in the database. I was approved on September the 26, so that means i will go apply for my SSN on October 11.
