I think a Gun reform would be in their priorities than a CIR. To be honest, most Americans are affected more by guns than illegal aliens. Thus they are more concern with it. They would lose their 1st amendment to protect their 2second

Personally to me, I think CIR/DA has a better chance of passing than Gun Control regulations. The topic of Gun Control in Congress is so taboo. Sad, but true.

Lets be real here, Congress does not want to take up GUN legislation. Right now they're just beginning the conversation on gun laws, it will be at least a year before anything worthy happens.

Stop the paranoia and read what Obama said.

President Obama says immigration is his major second-term priority, on par with his push for health care in his first term, according to an interview aired Sunday that continues to boost the issue to the top of the political conversation.

This is the transcript:

Quote:
(09:12:23) David Gregory: But I’m asking about time frame because as you well know as a second term president now, about to begin your second term, your political capital even having just won a re-election, is limited. So what is your single priority of the second term? What is the equivalent to healthcare?

(09:12:40) Obama: Well there are a couple of things we need to get done. I’ve said that fixing our broken immigration system is a top priority. I will introduce legislation in the first year to get that done.

(09:12:48 ) I think we’ve talked about it long enough, we know how we can fix it, we can do it in a comprehensive way that the American people support. That’s something that we should get done.

(09:12:57) Obama: The second thing that we’ve got to do is stabilize the economy and make sure it’s growing. Part of that is deficit reduction. Part of that is also making sure that we’re investing for example, in rebuilding our infrastructure.
Note: He didn't mention gun control on first or second priority:

+1

I don't buy all this nonsense about gun control distracting from other agendas. Have you guys ever talked to a gun owner about restricting their rights?

If anything this would be way more controversial than immigration, IMO the general public is going to be less hysterical about handing out temporary visas vs. getting their guns taken away (good luck.)

The only reason they brought up gun control is because of the recent psychos which happens every now and then, and they need something better to say than "Actually we can't really do anything about predicting or stopping people from going on shooting rampages"

CIR 2013....I laughed.

Maybe when it passed I'll give a shit.
Until then I'll let the DREAMers handle all the emotional debates, and sob stories.
