Not a Chance. Rick Perry ordered the DPS to change their policy which was already harsh and then while that was in the courts, held a special session in *edit*2011 to make sure it would become law to check immigration documents for even those renewing.

Maybe in 10 years when the state is more blue things will change. Meanwhile, Hispanics in Texas need to stop voting for Republicans - yes, many still do.

My folks were watching the local news yesterday and they said something concerning this only I didn't catch it all and I've tried to find something new but haven't had any luck. Ugh I know some of those Hispanics...

Perry really needs to go he's been here for almost 12 years now...but I'm scared of what could potentially replace him.

As bad as Perry is, you're right about the possibility of getting someone worse. He got a lot of shit from Romney early on for allowing for instate tuition. On the other hand, when former Houston Mayor Bill White ran against him, Perry kept playing a video by the widow of a cop who was killed by an illegal alien (using their term) and blamed the "Sanctuary City" policies of the mayor. It was disgusting how he was exploiting the murder of a police officer to vilify everybody without papers.

Yea especially since TX is a very red state.

I remember that I was worried that maybe he'd try to also make a wrong move and him and other TX legislators would try to make it harder on us or something but he actually defended it in his own Perry way.

I remember that I also remember he didn't want to do a debate. Ugh.

Let's just hope for the best and if the best for now is more Perry then by all means.

You guys, we really shouldn't be celebrating this license. I feel like this is all false advertising and there isn't enough word about what this license really is.
They are different than the normal one issued to everyone else in Illinois.

Read this article:
http://www.chicagonow.com/chicanisim...-undocumented/

Any official who stops an immigrant carrying this TEMPORARY driver's license has any right to make the assumption that the person they pulled over is illegal.

I really don't like this legislation and i wish there was more word about what it really is.

Well here in TX I heard that our Driver's License will have something on it that will let officer's know that we are undocumented. It says LIMITED TERM DRIVER'S LICENSE something that USC's don't have.

It was known for a long time they were going to be the TVDL (purple ones), and in IL, police cannot question your immigration status.

Yeah, it sucks it cannot be used as an ID, but at least many will be able to legally drive and obtain better insurance quotes than those low end insurance companies that prey on the undocumented by allowing to insure them with no DL and charge big $$

Rick Perry supports CIR/DA. Texas gets in-tuition for undocumented right?
