I am not concerned, you shouldn't be either. I'd be more worried about CIR not passing in the house and then having to take the piece meal route.

I hear ya.

I guess we must wait and see.

Still, and always, hoping for the best.

Sounds like a whole bunch of baloney if there is no travel authorization with this "temporary legal status". Rubio screwing us good here...shits bout to go DOWN! Obama needs to step in and seal this deal for us! It has to be immediate conditional permanent residency for all dreamers!!

Not going to be the popular opinion around here, but at this point if my mother can work, drive and travel, we'll just have to figure out the rest later. I'm concerned about the unemployment provision, but if that's what we have to deal with then that's what we have to deal with. She's in her 50s and it really does make me angry that this sort of thing is in the bill, but what are our other options? Do we continue to be undocumented? Continue to deal with driving without licenses? Continue to deal with paralyzing anxiety when we see the police or ICE? Continue calling ICE to help get another one of our undocumented brothers/sisters out of lockup?

I'm not going to condemn the Senate bill until I see what we're actually facing. We've made it this far, and if this is another hoop my family has to jump through, I'll be there to give my mother the boost through it.

Well said. There is no point in despairing at this point. This is not even an official bill yet. Seems like a draft of a draft actually. If this was the actual bill, it would be beyond me mainly because of the people involved (Durbin, Schumer, Obama etc) These are some credible names who have run on a very pro-immigrant platform. I'm sure they wouldn't leave this bill as it is. Secondly, the sheer magnitude of people at stake will pressurize this bill into becoming even more lenient towards us. I think we'll be getting a bad deal if us Dreamers aren't given permanent residence.

I agree I rather know my mother is gonna be safe & able to work legally anything that can accomplish that ill be happy with...some ppl need to accept that fact the CIR is not gonna be what we want that's why I didn't get hopes to high be happy of any oportunity were getting as soon as DACA happen some dreamers seem to think they have the power denied any proposal they don't like & it's wrong...we used to beg for something a least a DL now that we have it we want a perfect CIR which in reality it wouldn't be lets just happy if this happens our parents will be here with legal status

I acknowledge that, but I knew that we were not going to get everything we wanted and counted myself lucky if the bill included even 25% of what we feel should be included. We're dealing with Republicans. These are the same folks that thought immigration reform and self-deportation were one in the same.

There are several things that have not been addressed in these leaks including if the bill addresses the needs of people who are waiting on family petitions but are still undocumented, and what exactly the pathway will be for the DREAMers, etc. So, I'll wait to read the actual bill.

I think we should wait until we see what the language actually entails.I still the point that a Dreamer might be able to file for their immediate relatives if not affected by the triggers.
