Why would it make sense for someone to go back to 'home' country and stay there for 5 years when an undocumented can get a work permit and work and contribute to the economy for the next 5 years here? In the other article, it says you have to be here 12/31/2011 or earlier right? It could make sense to return back home if one arrived after that date and wait 5 years.

because if you choice to stay here, you have to wait 10 years for a green card while if you wait 5 years at home, you cut time by half. Get it?

If the problem Republicans have with low income aliens is that we would exploit government programs, then just don't let us apply for: Welfare, unemployment benefits, etc... That provision would be much better than stressing about being forced to have a job all time. Seriously, it's no big deal. We are resilient enough to live without government aid.

Oh, don't forget that applicants would have to get "on the back of the line" with USCIS. So anybody who applies under CIR would have to wait for the 4.5 million cases at USCIS right now. That's right, 15 million applications at USCIS. If CIR is too tough to process, we are looking at several years to even know if the applicant is approved.

I am talking from the US Economy point of view. It makes sense for the undocumented to stay here and contribute to the Economy for the next 10 years with a work permit.

If one goes 'home' than the undocumented is guaranteed a return trip to USA in exactly 5 years with a GC?
