I don't see how they can come to a compromise..........
.....I think the compromise should simply be the late Senator Specter's Gold Card plan or a modified variation of it!

I think debating this here will get us nowhere. We still require at least 10% to 15% of the House Republican caucus and Speaker Boehner if the Senate gets finished with S.744.The Senate still also has its issues concerning the Republican onus of 'border security' and the amendments will definitely reflect that.

The procedural 'motion to open debate' might not have an issue concerning Senate votes, but the filibuster rules are still a threat on the 'motion to end debate' when this is ready to be finished.I still think April would have been a better time for debate.

@Pianoswithoutfaith: Lol, I was articulating THEIR point of view. Full participation and engagement in this society *requires* citizenship. Next time, I'll write you a letter too

I'm confused about your question. What is 'it' that you refer to? DACA? Legal Status? Citizenship?

1) I think DACA is more than fair. I didn't qualify for it and still think it's a great principle.

2) Current attempts to remove pathways to citizenship make the legislation unfair. We cannot be given citizenship, we will have to attain it. Right now, you, any other DACA recipient, me and the rest of the undocumented population are potential citizens. As an undocumented child, the child's chances are pretty much the same as those of an American child. It's as an adult that chasm opens and then you are fully expected to comply, contribute and participate with society's laws and, as undocumented, are blamed when you are prevented, restricted or banned from following them. If you contribute to the full extent of what the law requires of you and meet your obligations, why, oh why, would you not be allowed the opportunity to seek citizenship? That I believe to be unfair.
