It has now been three weeks since the Senate passed a bipartisan immigration reform bill with a path to citizenship by a 68-32 vote, with the House still appearing disinclined to make meaningful action anytime soon. Today, a number of House Democrats are taking a stand on the House floor to speak on the economic benefits of immigration reform and to push their colleagues to take action on reform with a pathway to citizenship. They’re calling the event a “Special Order for House Freshmen on Economic Benefits of Immigration Reform.” They’ll be speaking this afternoon, Wednesday, July 17, sometime around 5:30 PM ET. Follow the conversation at #CIRmeansJobs, or tune back here to catch the livestream.
