But it is. I should know, I quickly skimmed through the article and saw the words "discharge petition" and "immigration".

My wife doesn't know who you are but I tell her about your predictions all the time and we laugh so hard. Thanks for the great laughs.

If the shutdown ends by discharge petition...then there's nothing stopping CIR being passed the same way. All we need is the exact same Republican votes for it, assuming the Democratic caucus holds the line, excuse me, if Pelosi can hold them in line.

Fingers crossed, they can get their act together and act responsibly. We'll see...

You guys realize that the government shutdown is far more important than CIR as far as priority don't you? It's unprecedented for one party to shut down the entire government because they want to defund one bill that has already passed so it takes an unprecedented move to stop it. Doing that for CIR is political suicide.

Of course. The point of this is that the Democratic caucus will need discipline and the help of reasonable - and I use the term loosely, here- Republicans who are willing to put their names on the line. I've stopped believing in 'impossible' when it comes to politics. It was impossible to grant deferred action en masse...until it was decided that they could grant it to 2 million people. It was impossible to pass healthcare reform that provided affordable coverage for 40 million Americans...until it was decided that they could, etc.

The pols always claim doing what's possible is 'political suicide' to save face. My two cents.

As much as I am inclined to constantly defend you from being made fun off...I have to tell you your posts just lack RATIONALE man. You've been saying that EVERY month for the past 12 MONTHS and there is still no bill whatsoever in the House even in the committee! I don't think there is substance behind this new bill on the House floor because it has absolutely NO GOP's behind it. They will not work on CIR until the shutdown is over. CIR has very slim chances I think but it might still be possible. Definitely not this month. Its okay to say "CIR will pass this month" but please give us some reasons to believe in that claim. If you were writing a college paper, you'd fail because you don't have any evidence or don't cite any credible sources.

Otherwise known as a form of trolling.

And I am pretty sure he likes any posts that replies to his own, trolls love their food.
