See how the lenient policy towards Secure Comm backfired in Santa Clara county and release dangerous violent Illegal Alien criminals back into the community to commit more high felony crimes:

http://peninsulapress.com/2013/03/20...ionwide-model/

Also, Illegal Aliens can always report crime to police anonymously. Why do we continue to give incentive and have a patronizing attitude to these Illegal Aliens? Does it give a sense of superiority and beneficence to those who have a God Complex?

The previous Trust Act wasn't signed because they conveniently left out: child abuse, human trafficking, drug sales.

Most CA sheriffs and DAs will not support the pending Trust Act. They will continue to report to ICE. If Arizona was shot down for its Illegal Alien laws because it "usurped" Federal Authority, then isn't the Trust Act the same? This will not stand up in court.

The "temporary" mark on non-immigrant drivers licenses is mandated by Real ID act. Personally I think it's discriminatory and unnecessary. Any government agency that needs to verify your identity for security reasons can pull up your data. Others that have no access to your data can't treat you differently just based on that mark. All it's good for is to tell every waiter, bartender, and vendor who check your ID that you're a f***ing foreigner.

California has the nation's highest minimum wage too, btw. I'm totally befuddled by this coming from a state who was on the verge of declaring bankruptcy, but it goes to show you how thinking outside the box and taking radical, extremist (no, not in the terrorist sense, don't get your panties in a bunch) measures solves problems. No risk = no reward.
You are incorrect on the fact that California has the highest minimum wage, its Washington state. California is nowhere near declaring bankruptcy, we recently passed tax legislation that will put us back at a a surplus from our near 40 billion deficit.

I agree with you 100%. It is just that the Democrats want to become the dictator of this country. That is why they prefer people who come to this country illegally.

When so many people start breaking the law without being punished, the entire system of the US starts collapsing. This process is slow, but it is happening. The US is declining like the old Roman Empire.

The US will soon stop being the US. It is happening...

That is just day dreaming. More illegals will come to the CA due to the policies, which will exhaust whatever resources you have.

It is happening, although slowly.

GOVERNOR BROWN SIGNS IMMIGRATION LEGISLATION

SACRAMENTO – As advocates rally across the nation today to urge Congress to adopt comprehensive immigration reform, Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. signed legislation to enhance school, workplace and civil protections for California’s hardworking immigrants.

“While Washington waffles on immigration, California’s forging ahead,” said Governor Brown. “I’m not waiting.”

Immigration reform advocates are rallying today in cities across the United States to call on the U.S. House of Representatives to give legal status to undocumented U.S. residents.

While gridlock continues in Washington, California continues to move forward on immigration reform. On Thursday, Governor Brown signed AB 60, extending the legal right to drive on the state’s roadways to millions of Californians and in October 2011, Governor Brown signed AB 131, the California Dream Act.

The Governor signed the following bills today:

• AB 4 by Assemblymember Tom Ammiano (D-San Francisco) – Prohibits a law enforcement official from detaining an individual on the basis of a United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) hold after that individual becomes eligible for release from custody, unless specified conditions are met.

• AB 35 by Assemblymember Roger Hernández (D-West Covina) – Provides that immigration consultants, attorneys, notaries public, and organizations accredited by the United States Board of Immigration Appeals are the only individuals authorized to charge a fee for providing services associated with filing an application under the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's deferred action program.

• AB 524 by Assemblymember Kevin Mullin (D-South San Francisco) – Provides that a threat to report the immigration status or suspected immigration status of an individual or the individual's family may induce fear sufficient to constitute extortion.

• AB 1024 by Assemblymember Lorena Gonzalez (D-San Diego) – Allows applicants, who are not lawfully present in the United States, to be admitted as an attorney at law.

• AB 1159 by Assemblymember Lorena Gonzalez (D-San Diego) – Imposes various restrictions and obligations on persons who offer services related to comprehensive immigration reform.

• SB 141 by Senator Lou Correa (D-Santa Ana) – Requires that the California Community Colleges and the California State University, and requests that the University of California, exempt a United States citizen who resides in a foreign country, and is in their first year as a matriculated student, from nonresident tuition if the student demonstrates financial need, has a parent or guardian who was deported or voluntarily departed from the U. S., lived in California immediately before moving abroad, and attended a secondary school in California for at least three years.

• SB 150 by Senator Ricardo Lara (D-Bell Gardens) – Authorizes a community college district to exempt pupils attending community colleges as a special part-time student from paying nonresident tuition.

• SB 666 by Senator Darrell Steinberg (D-Sacramento) – Provides for a suspension or revocation of an employer's business license for retaliation against employees and others on the basis of citizenship and immigration status, and establishes a civil penalty up to $10,000 per violation.

For full text of the bills, visit: http://leginfo.ca.gov/bilinfo.html.

Best?

So, you are happy that your families, your children, your grandchildren will be forced to compete with more illegal immigrants from all over the world?

Are you happy about that? Would your kids be as happy as you are?

Trust act is designed to protect undocumented immigrants who have nothing to do with the crime, and are sometimes the victims of the crime. A perfect example is outlined in this NPR story:
http://www.npr.org/2013/10/07/230192...gration-reform

She was getting beaten by his boyfriend, and because she couldn't explain the situation to the police (she didn't speak English), she was arrested and nearly deported. She wasn't the one reporting the incident, someone else called it in.

When people like her fear the police, she would not call the cops even when she's being victimized. As a result real criminals become bolder and the community less safe in general.

Brown vetoed the previous version because it was too broad. The current version that he signed would still hold sex offenders and arsons, while sparing the occasional pot smokers and street vendors without permit.

How about "Republicans want to become fascist dictators of this country, preferring no immigration to preserve the current racial and cultural makeup of the country". Both sentences are nonsense. As a matter of fact the corporate and evangelical factions of the Republican party wants sensible immigration policy. Companies want good workers, and Churches want to extend compassion to fellow human beings whose only sin was to be born in the wrong country.

Facts, you need facts. USA jails more people than any other country in the world.

I dont know where you are getting your news from, probably need to lay off Fox news for a bit. US declining? Please show me the facts, not everything remains the same. This country is ever changing, if you don't like change you perhaps live in the wrong country. The US was built on it having so much diversity, don't like competing with immigrants? Again, its the wrong nation for you. Competition is what drives this country, sure its not a perfect country but we do the best we can. Illegal immigration will continue to happen, whether you like it or not. We try to pass laws that fix our immigration system, but we have a certain few that prevent us from moving forward and creating a more streamlined system, yes im talking about the GOP/Tea Party movement. Its these few that have hijacked our Congress and caused and impasse in almost just because Obama was reelected. It's not even about what President Obama has introduced as his policies, they are just downright hateful and are attacking his persona.
