I think Obama will expand MAVNI program to DACA beneficiaries.

Nah, we've already got "something." And we're only at 500K. Immigration groups will be looking at an expanded form of EO.

Only thing that we really need is a handful of republicans and the bill to actually hit the floor. The votes are likely there. After the primaries they are pretty much untouchable anymore since it'll be an issue of democrats versus republicans, rather than who is the bigger conservative.

Do you think that republican supporters will attract so much wrath that people will vote for democrats to get rid of them? Fuck no.

Why is it that some of us here seem to have settled for mavni?! From what i've researched, very few of DACA beneficiaries would qualify given the specific skill sets they seek and fixed # of individuals the program can enlist in any given year.

Plus it would be illogical for Obama to expand the program for all daca recipients. Just not going to happen.

As much as I want Obama to use EO...if he does you might as well say everyone will be in limbo..please don't get me wrong.. I am living proof of DACA to GC,but with the license,SSC and a job great...but no loans, financial aid,no travel,no federal jobs,no Obama care and no sense of security FOH we need some congressional action on this matter..also for the amount of money they will make renewing every 2 yrs congress would care less about ever making us permanent residents and if a Republican ever wins he will reverse Obama's decision on the est 11million undocumented, don't believe so on the DACA recipients...Obama has 3 more years to use his ACE in the hole executive order to get more votes for the democrat elect running for President to defeat a republican "IF" they were losing in the polls..IMO

This kinda sucks since he did kinda support dreamers to a small degree and paid the price for it. As has already been said, it means that immigration reform is pretty much dead forever. Even smaller bills like the dream act have little to no chance of passing.

So at this point our only hope is to rely on DACA, hope a Democrat is elected and DACA is kept, and hope for the GOP to not win both chambers? Outside of marriage in order to adjust status, seems like dreamers are screwed.

I said it in the other thread and I'll say it here: This may not be as bad as some of you think. Primary elections are famous for gamesmanship. It could very well be that Democrats voted in the GOP primary to get rid of Cantor. Cantor is not a good dude. Beating him in the general election would have been very tough if not impossible. Beating this new right wing extremist is easier. Keep your hopes up.

Yes and Cantor has been playing a major role in stalling CIR from advancing in the House. He got what he deserved. Next is Boehner if he doesn't get his shit together.
