It brings me some hope. I'm normally such a cheerful and upbeat person but last month I've been down. I'm paranoid the EO won't cover me again.

TBH it wouldn't make any sense to issue an EO and for it not to cover people that have been here for a long time (both you and Iaman) unless ofcourse the EO is geared towards people with USC children which in that case would be a huge dissapointment.

I would be disappointed... It's bread crumbs compared to the expectations of a full course meal that we were promised.

I'll keep you posted -I want a bit of justice, too. Do you have a file with DHS?

Nope, nothing on record. My case is the classic "I was brought to the US as a child" and "I aged out of DACA." I went to that famous lawyer Carl Shusterman. He is the one that said that even though I have a clean record and married to a USC, I should still not apply because it is a hit and miss at this point. The fact that I don't have any anchor babies makes it more difficult for me to adjust too.

The reason that I think his EO might be aimed towards people with USC children is that such order might be the easiest to defend against criticism. Such an order, from what I understand, would cover about 3.8 million undocumented immigrants. People like me, might get lucky if he goes as far as risking covering over 5 million people. I should stick to economic forecasting and stop trying to forecast what he will end up doing. I'm just having a difficult time waiting until the end of summer to hear what he will do.

Just take the age caps off DACA (16,31) and leave everything else the same, voila! I personally don't think it a bad thing if parents have to get a GED to qualify, it can only benefit them. As far as having to have USC children to qualify, that's a bit ludicrous, and if anything the Repubs will be the first ones to say "oh great, more anchor babies!". I made up my mind to never have any children while I was undocumented, but if it comes down to it, I'd rather adopt (which is gonna happen eventually, either way, hahah).

Mine, too. But, we were targeted by ICE agents who didn't want to leave empty-handed when their actual target was nowhere to be found. And I shelled over $15,000 plus filing fees to fight my case thru appeals, when prosecutorial discretion or deferred action would have been the better route for ME, but less $$ for the unethical "prominent" local attorney's firm that represented my case. I no longer have that many extra funds available (I'd saved up to continue my education) and I'm unwilling to pay another dime to another attorney when it's my history, my facts that can help me stay. It's the biggest scam out there to force vulnerable, in most cases indigent, individuals without rights to shell out that kind of money for relief. That kind of money that can be used to purchase health coverage, pay back taxes, etc. But of course, the amount is just a drop in the bucket for govnmt agencies with billions of dollars in funding.

I don't understand why not do both? Remove the age-cap for DACA- a childhood arrival is a childhood arrival, regardless of passage of time.

Actually the best thing to do is simply to move the registry date; this can be done by the attorney general.

Damn, I'm glad I came back to these forums this week. You guys are making feel better. I've been going crazy ever since Obama announced his prospective EO.

well just dont get your hopes up too much, remember last year when we all thought it was for sure theyd pass an immigration reform? Senate passing their own, House working on their own, and Gang of 7 working on their own, 3 bills the talk of this forum, any month now, then that "great momentum" was lost
